Tanzania is a country famous for its wilderness areas, it is a country in East Africa. There are many wildlife parks and these parks a populated with “big five”. Which are elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo.

Visa policy of Tanzania
The government of Tanzania has introduced the system of e-visa on 26th November 2018. Few countries are visa exempted by the government of Tanzania, if the tourist is traveling from visa exempted countries then he or she doesn’t require the visa.

Types of visa
Ordinary visa
It is a single entry visa, that is granted to the foreign internal tourist. The validity of this visa doesn’t exceed 90 days.
Business visa
As the name suggests that it is only for business purposes. The validity of this visa doesn’t exceed 90 days.
Multiple visa entry
This visa is only for the foreign nationals, that are here for a frequent visa. Those are here for the frequent calls in the united republic of Tanzania for example, there are owners of the companies, who’s companies are registered in Tanzania.

Transit visa
This type of visa is given to the person who is traveling from the republic of Tanzania. The tourist traveling must show proof of their destination visa. The validity of this visa is 7 days.
Student visa
As the name tells that, it is only for the students. This may be issued for the single entry or multiple entries of the holder of the visa. The students must be having the travel document of the international recognized society.
Gratis Visa
This is also a type of student visa, it is given to the students who are interns, doing research, volunteering, or the EAC students( Exchange students ). This visa is only valid for 2 years.
Referral cases
This is a visa, a tourist only gets after the approval of the high commission of the country or the commissioner of Immigration (Zanzibar). Few countries fall under the referral visa category.

Tanzania visa for Sri Lanka Citizens
Sri Lanka falls under the category of referral visas. The citizens of Sri Lanka need to get a special permit from the government of Tanzania. The tourist is advised not to book any hotels or accommodation in the country till they get the clearance.
Tourist traveling from Sri Lanka they require a visa to travel to Tanzania. The tourist visa is usually for short stays, the visa expires within 90 days. Several documents are needed for the visa of Tanzania.
How to get the visa for Tanzania for a Sri Lanka Citizen.
Several steps are needed to be followed :
- The tourist traveling to Tanzania must state the reason for travel to the country. In that way, they will decide what kind of Visa should be issued.
- After the confirmation of the visa, the applicant must pay the fees of the visa.
- The visa applications will be processed within 10 days, so the applicants must observe the time frame in which they are traveling.
- After all the steps and making the payment, applicants should wait for the approval of their visa. They will get the confirmation of their visa on their email id.
- The government of Tanzania or the Immigration office of Tanzania will give the reason for the rejection of the visa of the applicant.

Passport photo
The tourist must carry a passport photo, that should not be older than 6 months before travel.

The tourist traveling must be having a copy of the passport of Sri Lanka, the copy must be clear and it should show all the details. The passport must be valid for 6 months before entry into the country.
Travel details or travel bookings
the government of Tanzania requires the tourist to carry a return ticket or a round trip ticket. The tourist traveling must get verified if they don’t want to get a return ticket and they want to enter the country.

Bank Statement
The government of Tanzania requires the tourist to carry their bank statement for the past month. The bank statement must clearly show the name of the applicant, the balance of the account. The tourist traveling must have the hardcopy of the statement, if they have an online statement it should be properly stamped by the bank officials.
Travel itinerary
Travel itinerary, means the travel details of the person traveling. The travel bookings must have the name of the person traveling (expect the tickets ).
Health document
This document contains the certificate of vaccination and a certificate against yellow fever.
