DJIBOUTI VISA REQUIREMENTS and DJIBOUTI VISA APPLICATION FORM

You need a few documents to apply for a Djibouti Transit Visa.

Those documents are as follows:

  1. Copy of your passport holding a validity of at least six months.
  2. Two Passport size pictures with a white and clear background are also required.
  3. Confirmed Air Tickets of your final destination.
  4. Visas of the country of your final destination.

The process of the Djibouti application form is simple and quick. You have to fill the basic application form for a visa and select the 'Transit' Visa Type as your category. After uploading the required documents with your form, pay the fees via your Debit/Credit Card, and submit the form. Once processed, you will get your Transit Visa through your registered Email ID and you can take a print of it to show it to the concerned authorities at the Djibouti Airport.

WHO NEEDS A VISA FOR DJIBOUTI?

DJIBOUTI TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS

There are a few entry requirements that you should follow if you're planning to visit Djibouti during Covid-19. They are as follows:

  • From 11 November, you will be required to have a PCR test certificate from the country where you began your journey, whether you arrive by air, land, or sea. You must take the exam within 72 hours before leaving your destination and 120 hours after arriving in Djibouti.
  • In order to facilitate your travel to another country, you should not use the NHS testing service to get a test. There's a private exam you can arrange to take.
  • If you are over 11 years of age, you will be screened for COVID-19 upon arrival at all entry points (land, air, or sea) and will have to stay at the entry point before you collect the test results (estimated waiting up to four hours). 30 minutes before your arrival at the point of entry, you should not eat anything. Also, For the exam, you'll have to pay. You will be free to go to your accommodation if your result is negative. If the result is positive, you will be taken to a quarantine hotel or hospital designated by the government and will remain in quarantine until you test negative. And you'll be paying accommodation expenses. 

It is the responsibility of the authorities in the country or territory to which you travel to set and implement the rules for entry. You may need to contact the Djibouti embassy, the high commission, or the country's consulate if you are unsure about any part of the entry requirements, or if you need more reassurance.

ABOUT VACCINATIONS

  • Vaccination for yellow fever is compulsory before you travel to Djibouti.
  • It is advisable to get vaccinated against tetanus, triple virus, and hepatitis A, but it's not compulsory.
  • You should keep in mind all the necessary precautions for health and safety, beware of unpackaged beverages, and ask your doctor to prescribe anti-malarial prophylactic drugs.
  • Medical insurance for travel is advisable. Doctors and hospitals can only treat you with any needed care upon immediate cash payment.
  • There is a possibility of malaria all over Djibouti, and strains resistant to chloroquine have been identified. It is advised to use mefloquine or doxycycline, but it is best to contact your personal doctor or tropical health care center for advice. Try to avoid direct contact with wild animals and flora.
