WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED AN EMERGENCY DOCUMENT
If you find yourself in a situation where you require an Uganda emergency document, then first email the embassy or the consulate general with the following documents:
- The scanned copy of the lost passport
- Full name of the applicant
- Date of birth of the applicant
- The name of the authority who issued the lost passport(i.e the name of the mayor, ambassador or the consul in)
- The date on which the lost passport was issued
- Provide proof like your travel itinerary or flight bookings which will act as proof that you cannot postpone your journey

WHICH EMERGENCY VISA/DOCUMENT IS FOR YOU?
Once the authorities receive your email, they will decide which Uganda emergency visa/document is right for you.
There are 2 types:
- A new passport
- Emergency passport
Now after the authorities have received your Uganda emergency document mail, they will need to verify it.
First, they will seek permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to process your emergency visa/passport. This takes 1-3 business days.
Next, they will verify your documents with the municipality that issued your lost documents. This process might cause a delay as it can only be checked from Monday to Friday.

WHAT DOCUMENTS TO CARRY?
You must carry the following Uganda emergency visa requirements while visiting the embassy
- A completed form
- A written declaration that states travel document is missing
- 2 photos
- Documents to prove that you are a tourist and cannot postpone your journey
- Onward journey ticket copies
- Copy of the lost passport
- Copies of the identity documents
- If possible bring a police report that states the complaint against your lost or stolen passport
IN THE CASE OF CHILDREN
While applying for emergency documents of minors, parents need to submit copies of their own passports and must sign the emergency documents application form.
If this is not possible in case the parents aren’t accompanying the child, then the minor can submit the consent letter signed by parents along with the copies of their passport.
