BENIN VISA FOR TOURISM
In metropolitan places, street crime is a major issue. Robberies and muggings occur on main thoroughfares and in neighbourhoods, especially those populated by expatriates and diplomatic personnel, popular pubs and restaurants, and beaches near hotels popular with international visitors. The majority of recorded occurrences involved the use of force by armed people, resulting in minor injuries to the victim. STREETS AND TRANSPORTATION IN BENIN
Motorbikes and motorbikes are highly common on Benin's roadways, and they will emerge or switch lanes abruptly. Traffic signals are uncommon, and they may not be operable or maintained. Even on the busiest of roadways, pedestrians, non-motorized carts, broken-down cars, and rubbish are common.
Benin's roads are typically in bad condition. Dirt roads become unusable during the monsoon seasasons. Vehicles with 4 drives, complete spare tyres, and emergency kits are advised.
Smuggled gasoline from Nigeria is freely available in glass bottles and jugs at roadside shops around Cotonou and most of the country. This gasoline is untrustworthy because it frequently includes water or other pollutants that might harm or disable your car. Drivers should only fill up at authorised service stations. Periodic gas shortages occur, particularly in the north of the nation, where there are fewer service stations.
